Oil on canvas, 70cm x 70cm Painted from Fleet St. Hill near Allen Gardens, London. Urban Chariot captures a fleeting moment of solitude in the city. The central figure, a vivid orange council road sweeper’s bin, stands boldly in sunlight, alone but dignified, as if waiting with purpose. Across the composition, strong shadows cut sharply through the scene, the bleached road heightening contrast. The distant form of St Anne's RC Church in Whitechapel looms quietly in the hazy background, unchanged and watching over time’s passing. The back wall hides a solitary worker tucked in the corner, their presence hinted at more than revealed. Graffiti punches through the darkness here, its colours catching the eye and breaking the monotony of shadow. On the right, sunlight drapes over panelled surfaces, where graffiti glows with unexpected vitality, like stained glass in an urban cathedral.
