The second in the New York series is a view of 42nd Street. It as on a day I decided to walk to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and was hit by such a down pour it only added to the lights of the city. Reflections were bouncing off the ground and from the windows of the shops. It was reinforcing the message that everything was for sale. This painting is a development of my style which is intended for the view not to be focussed on every detail but to feel you are in the city yourself where your mind tells you there are shops and people but you dont really see them.
